An Afternoon with the Ezra Jack Keats Awards
The Children’s Literary Salon at the Children’s Center at 42nd Street is pleased to announce “An Afternoon with the Ezra Jack Keats Awards,” on Saturday, April 2nd at 2:00 p.m.

Established in 1985, the Ezra Jack Keats Awards are presented jointly by The New York Public Library and the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation to talented new children’s book authors and illustrators, who, in the spirit of Ezra Jack Keats, create vividly written and illustrated books for children (age nine and under). Join a distinguished panel discussing the nature of the award and those books most deserving of its attention.
The panel will consist of:
- Deborah Pope, Executive Director Ezra Jack Keats Foundation
- Miriam Lang Budin, Chappaqua Public Library, 2008-2009 EJK Award Chair
- Nina Crews, Children’s book author and illustrator
- Pat Cummings, Children’s book author and illustrator
- Lisa Von Drasek, Bank Street College of Education Library and EarlyWord.com
The Moderator will be Barbara Genco, the 2010-2011 Award Chair (Library Journal).
