Reference Questions: Books For Grade Levels

Q: I’m looking for books for 5th grade on…frogs, magic, religion, New York?

A: We get questions like this all the time, students looking for books on a topic for a particular age or grade.

We are delighted to show you how to search the catalog for children’s books on your topic. The catalog records will not tell us what grade or age a book is for.

You can use clues in the information in the record, for example the number of pages. Then you can make a list of books to go take a look at to determine if they are right for your class.

And we can also point you to lots of other resources:
